AE Lloyd & Sons History
A family firm since 1890 with four generations of retailing fine hand made cigars for which we have built up a solid reputation worldwide.
We have also run a cigar website since 1997, being the first UK site for hand made cigars, and as such have a lot of experience of shipping fine cigars, with all our cigars sent in original condition as fresh as they were when they left our Gold Medal humidor.
We hope we can provide a reliable, knowledgable and friendly service which we have built up after 120 years of retailing experience.

Albert Edward Lloyd, this image is from a postcard he had made to give to his customers with a Christmas message thanking them for their custom, a bit of a character, he came back from living with the Sioux tribe in Minnesota to take over the shop.
John Thomas Lloyd, my father who took on the shop after leaving the RAF at the end of world War II. J T as he was known was the first cigar aficionado in the family, Hoyo De Monterey being his “go to” cigar but enjoyed any cigar so long as it was Cuban!
He sadly passed away before I could take him with me on my first trip to Cuba, his love of the cigars was the reason I started the website named Cigars of Cuba as no other cigar was good enough! We cater for a much larger range of cigars now as they all have their merit but my heart will always be in Havana.
