Tobacconists A.E.Lloyd & Son History

Tobacconists A.E.Lloyd & Son History

A family firm since 1890 with four generations of retailing Cuban cigars for which we have built up a solid reputation worldwide.

In the early days we were priveliged to supply The Prince Of Wales when he came to visit, LLoyd George and many local politicians, no doubt hoping to rise by association with such luminaries!

The business opened in 1890 and ran for many years supplying customers over a large part of central Wales.

We have also run a cigar website since 1995, being the first UK site for Cuban cigars, and as such have a lot of experience of shipping fine Havanas, with all our cigars sent in original condition and shrink wrapped for international sales to keep the cigars as fresh as they were when they left our humidor.

On our site you will find most smokers products and we are always happy to find that special product not already listed.

We hope we can provide a reliable, knowledgable and friendly service which we have built up after 100 years of retailing experience.

Albert Edward Lloyd, this image is from a postcard he had made to give to his customers with a Christmas message thanking them for their custom, a bit of a character, he came back from living with the Sioux tribe in Minnesota to take over the shop.

John Thomas Lloyd, my father who took on the shop after leaving the RAF at the end of world War II.
J T as he was known was the first cigar aficionado in the family, Hoyo De Monterey being his "go to" cigar but enjoyed any cigar so long as it was Cuban!
He sadly passed away before I could take him with me on my first trip to Cuba, his love of the cigars was the reason I started the website named cigarsofcuba as no other cigar was good enough!
We cater for a much larger range of cigars now as they all have their merit but my heart will always be in Havana.
La Habana es la mejor ciudad en el todo del mundo para mí !
