The smallest in the range and a great quick smoke when time is at a premium, a smaller verison of the Siglo II in blend – smooth rich flavour without the heat of a Partagas or intensity of a good Bolivar, a very sophisticated smoke.
There are many different sizes and two distinct blends in the Cohiba range, the original range consisting of the Esplendidos, Robusto and smaller vitolas (sizes). The second range was brought out to commemorate the 500 years since Columbus discovered tobacco in 1492, the range consisted of 5 sizes to commemorate each century; Siglo I, II, III IV, V.
The series commemorates the 500th anniversary of Colombus’ discovery of Cuba, where he sampled the ancient Cohiba. The indigenous people of Cuba utilised tobacco leaves much like we do today in the creation of cigars. In the native tongue, ‘Cohiba’ is the name given to the tobacco plant’s leaves after they have been treated. The Cohiba Siglo I Cigar itself is crafted by the finest cigar rollers in Cuba and grown in first class fields. The wrapper is made from Corojo tobacco and the cigar’s strength is medium to full.
